Trail and Campsite are located off the beaten path on a working farm,

which produces Beef Cattle, Soybeans, and Corn.

 

Timber shaded, natural surface walking trails enable

 

 you to identify and enjoy numerous kinds of trees,

 

wild flowers and wild life.

      In their season you may see    sweet Williams,

 

    Purple violets,  spring beauties,      dog tooth violets,

 

 Dutchmen’s britches, Boy britches, may apples, wild ginger, wild larkspur.

Red Bud Tree

In the early spring, the entire timber comes alive with the blooming of the

 many red bud trees. Enjoy the majestic soaring of the turkey buzzards, the

 red-tailed hawk, the scolding of the blue jays, the brilliant color of the

 cardinals and the many songbirds who make their home there.

 

Listen for the caucus of crows, the nighttime hoot of the owl and the call of the whippoorwill.

 

You may see red squirrels, gray squirrels, deer, opossum, raccoon, rabbits and wild turkey.

Hear the nighttime howl of the coyote and see the brilliant light show of the fireflies.

 

 Hear the chorus of the frogs, katydids and jar flies.

Picnic tables and benches are available for your enjoyment along the trail.

 

Meadow

 

Primitive camping site is a level grassed area, with fire rings, lantern bracket and outhouse.

Firewood is available for purchase.
